Sotto Soaps
To start a blog, I thought I should name my soaps!
It is cooler for them to have their own name, isn’t it? :)))

So I named them “sotto” soaps.
​
“Sotto” means “gently” in my language.
If you hear the word “sotto” in Japan, you automatically imagine a situation that the object is being treated very delicately like a treasure.
I want my soaps to treat users’ skins very gently like a treasure also!
Our soaps contain lots of natural creations of mother earth – plants.
I made these guys because I experienced the importance of nature.

I used to be a sales person in an international IT company.

My life was so hectic back then and I always wanted relaxation.
You are busy not only because of work, but there are many things to do as well, right?
Seeing friends, going back home to see family, going on dates or taking care of your own family, drinking with customers and coworkers, studying, hobby time, etc.
Like everyone, I was very active with everything. And one day, I realized that I was a bit tired.

Because of the realization, I went back home in Hiroshima and spent time with my family in nature. (We live in the mountains)
After four years of life in a concrete jungle, it seemed like my inner-self was dried out completely.
I even felt that my spirit was very greedily absorbing something from trees, spring water, flowers, soil, everything in nature.
​
The softness of the earth my feet felt with every step I took, the sound my steps made by walking on fallen leaves.
Fresh air that I could almost even feel lives in it.
Spring water – its coolness, mildness and tastiness.
Wild birds, animal and bugs singing along with wind and water.
​
I regained my energy back and this experience made me convinced that nature has a definite influence on our lives.
I had to experience all these to finally realize the fact above although I’m from a super countryside. haha
My life was full of artificial creation from cleaning supplies to fast/convenience store food in Tokyo.
​
So I wanted to make soaps that people can feel connected with nature, and get relaxed and relieved like I did when I came back to the mountains.
It gently (sotto) touches our body and heart and cuddles them like a little treasure. :)
This is what I want when I go back to the hectic life again.

It is actually a little treat back to nature too as they are 100% biodegradable! hehe
Sotto soaps are for those who deal with modern life.
If you are too busy to go get some treat from our mother earth outside of the city, or if your heart is tired because of some materialistic surroundings, like I was -
please relax, connect with nature, and let the plants and aromas take your tension away with the soaps every time you shower or bathe. :)
