An old English proverb states: “He who would live for aye, must eat sage in May.”
An old Arabic proverb also says “Why should a man die whilst sage grows in his garden?”
The name Sage is from a Latin word salvare, which means to heal.
This herb was used for medical treatments and seemed to be a symbol of longevity and health.
In Japan this herb is called a panacea, such a powerful name. haha
I guess people have used this herb wisely from ancient times.
The language of flower for sage is “wisdom” and “immortality.”
So the name of this soap represents my feeling and respect towards the herb.
Unlike my other botanical soaps, this guy has a way darker body.
When I first made it, I got worried as it was a really strong color.
But once I started using it, my concern went away. This dark body makes such nice bright bubbles and a spicy smell.
Seems like it has the best effect on my husband’s skin also.
He tests all my soaps and every time he uses it, I check his skin condition.
His skin got the smoothest with this one. It even addressed his body pimples, which was a nice unexpected benefit he got. haha
When I used this guy, I felt the surface of my skin and noticed it started to feel warm. This is probably because sage has an effect of promoting blood flow.
Unlike Call of Beauty, this one doesn’t have moistening ability, but its soothing ability is fantastic.
The sage treats our skin very wisely. :)
This guy also contains an herb of rejuvenation, rosemary.
So a collaboration of cure-all and rejuvenation.
Perfect, isn’t it? Hahaha
This soap also has enough herbs to make it this dark.
There are remaining active contents that sodium hydroxide cannot break down.
The sage and Merry Rose have completely opposite images to me.
Calm and solemn old man versus a very active youthful girl.
It might be interesting to compare these two in your bathroom.
Let’s enjoy what this wise guy offers us together! :D
